Happy Mother's Day😊

慈母手中线,
游子身上衣。
临行密密封,
意恐迟迟归。
谁言寸草心,

children learn through play

According to the Lev Vygotsky, his play theory emphasize on social development. When children play, they give clues to adults about their readiness to learn new skill with assistance.

According to Maria Montessori, she proposed that the children would be better off if their spent their play learning or imagining useful things.

According to Jean Piaget, he is focused on children intellectual development. He suggest that human intellect develops in stages through assimilation, or play, accommodation, or work.

While research on brain development is in its infancy, it is believed that play shapes the structural design of the brain. We know that secure attachments and stimulation are significant aspects of brain development; play provides active exploration that assists in building and strengthening brain pathways. Play creates a brain that has increased 'flexibility and improved potential for learning later in life' (Lester & Russell, 2008, p. 9).

Young children's play allows them to explore, identify, negotiate, take risks and create meaning. The intellectual and cognitive benefits of playing have been well documented. Children who engage in quality play experiences are more likely to have well-developed memory skills, language development, and are able to regulate their behaviour, leading to enhanced school adjustment and academic learning (Bodrova & Leong, 2005).

Play is essential to development because it contributes to the cognitive ,physical, social, and emotional well being of children. Play also offers an ideal opportunity for parents to engage fully with their children. Below is an article that show us the importance of play for young children.

Parenting

This was one of an event that held in my center-Sports Day. All the parents attended at the center in the early morning. Our center prepared activities for the children, teachers and also the parents. We can see the children were playing hard in the activities and they are looks cute. Thus, their parents were busying to take their child's pictures. We believe that this was the very memorable sports day for them.

from our learning in college we knew that parental involvement are very important in early childhood setting. But once we work in the preschool we can realize that how does the parental involvement benefit for teacher, children and parent themselves.
when the parents are involved in the sport day, their children will feel very happy and proud. They wanted to show their parents how well they perfomance in school and want their parents to praise them. This is one of the key element that children need encouragement from their parents.
Besides that, parent involvement are also benefit for the teachers and school. parents will provide useful information about their child to the teacher. The teacher will make an evaluation and observation to the child through the information. Thus, parents and teacher can share their teaching strategies with each other
.when the child see their parents communicate with their teacher, it builds a sense of trustworthy to the teacher and they will be more able to cooperate with the teacher.

from the article of child day care parent participation, it give us a lot of helpful information about different way to involve parents in any activities. One of the way is submitted the newsletter to the parents. second,Having parents assist with field trips.third, assist the parents in fundraising effort and making donations.
in summary,Parental involvement is key to any child’s school success. Communication between the child’s teacher and the parent is a vital part to creating a classroom that encourages this type of involvement. Early childhood educators have the opportunity to help bridge the family home life of a child and his or her school world at a beginning level.

we have also learn a lot from the article of ten keys to successful parenting. This article are very useful for the teachers and parents to discipline their child from young. It improves their coordination and strength and will have long-lasting benefits, such as helping their ability to write and use a pen as they get older.Besides that,Taking part in craft classes is likely to be enjoyable for children and could help boost their confidence in their own abilities. As children get older, there are still many benefits to be gained from art and craft activities.
